Chaconne
and Variations (1991) (Fl.,Ob.,Cl.,Hn.,Bsn.) - A transcription of
the composer's 1969 composition for mixed sextet. The chaconne
and variations permeate both the slow and fast sections of this
piece. Modal harmony prevails while contrapuntal lines weave
towards several exciting climaxes. This work is recorded by the Golden
Gate Wind Quintet on the Emeritus label.
